I’m sure some of the particiants of  the OES Tsetnoc have noticed that my OES Tsetnoc was down for few days due to a hosting issue problem. Yes it was down and I was aware of it.

Reasons why I didn’t attend to the OES  issue and had it resolved at once was it was part of the plan.  Though I know this entry was on the 4th page of google’s ranking since I joined. I still want to check if my ranking will go further up after it was down for a almost 2 weeks.

Oes Tsetnoc – When it comes to search engine optimization, the very common way of popularizing a website is by submission in a web directory. A web directory is a link directory on  WWW. A web directory is a way of linking to other web sites which is based on categories and sub categories.

A form is usually used to fill in the details of the website when submitting a web site link and the submission approval depend on the directory editors who review the content of the link submitted. The relevancy of the link determines the validity of the submission i.e. if a dubai property link is submitted to (say) IT category of a web directory, the link would not be accepted and will invalidate the submission.

There are three types of directories: Free, Paid and Reciprocal. Free directories take in the information as such and allows your site to get listed in the chosen relevant category. The  disadvantage to this type does not provide a permanent link back to your site. Paid directories, charges certain fee which guarantees you that the link you added is placed in the relevant category. Reciprocal directory type requires a link back for your to your site.

Oes Tsetnoc main criteria when submitting to a website directory is its quality. A low quality directory can give a negative impact on the site submitted. It is always important to chose  industry specific web directory for submission.

I actually don’t have much of an update with regards to Oes Tsetnoc contest. I have not check rankings for the past few days as we were busy the whole week for GITEX.

With regards to ranking for oes, I saw today that those who are on top are doing pretty good. They have manage to be on their positions for past weeks. Though Lloydi who was on top 3 has now gone missing as what he says. I hope it will come back and come back with the no.1 spot.

As for my entry, I guess it will be just another domain after the contest. I feel like my motivation was gone and I am so busy as well with so many things.

As of this writing, Oes Tsetnoc Winner is currently ranking 57.

Who Cares on Having Backlinks?

Most site owners still doesn’t know how important backlinks are. Aside of course from having created a search engine friendly website, for me and I’m sure oes tsetnoc contestants agrees that backlinks are important.

Now why do we want to have backlinks on our site? Why do we care of having backlinks? For whom these backlinks are?  People who reads your site knows nothing that you are getting links from site A and site B. So for whom are we creating links to? The answer to this is Search Engines.

It is for them mainly Google that we oes tsetnoc create back links. In the world of  search engine optimization or mostly called SEO, the number of backlinks is one indication of the popularity or importance of that website or page and that is how Google ranks websites.

Acquiring links or what they call link building is tedious for some and interesting to others. The easiest way for me to build links is to create a topic or useful content and ideas that will  make my readers link to the site. Without link building, you will never reach to the top.
